In a highly critical evaluation, the military oversight panel asserted that the UK is "nowhere near" where it needs to be to properly protect itself and its allies, especially during a period when military risks to European nations are "considerable".

The inquiry found that Britain is not fulfilling its international defence duties and dropping "significantly below" of its claimed leadership position.

The report was published as the security agency selected prospective sites for half a dozen new ammunition plants, being part of a comprehensive plan to enhance domestic defence production.

Recently, the Military Chief revealed intentions to move the nation to "war-fighting readiness", including significant investment to support the construction of new munitions factories.

Nonetheless, after an extended inquiry, the security review board cautioned that the UK and its European Nato allies were still overly dependent on the United States and did not allocate sufficient funds on their national protection.

"Putin's aggressive incursion of Ukraine, persistent false information operations, and frequent violations into continental skies mean that we should not permit to ignore reality," declared the board leader.

The board leader noted that the group had "frequently encountered apprehensions about the UK's capacity to secure itself from hostile engagement".

The particular recommendations contained a request for the administration to speed up the speed of industrial change and make "preparedness" a primary objective.

The continent's significant dependence on the US in vital sectors such as "intelligence, orbital systems, soldier deployment and aerial refueling" was also underwent evaluation in the report.

It noted that the nation had "almost nothing" when it came to coordinated anti-aircraft capabilities, and referenced recently reported unmanned aircraft violating airspace across Europe as demonstration of how contemporary systems can endanger non-combatant citizens in alongside armed forces assets.

The administration revealed in recent months that British defence spending would increase to a significant portion of GDP by the target year at the latest.

In an upcoming presentation, the Defense Minister is expected to disclose plans to restart the creation of propellant substances in the UK, following an extended period of sourcing these components from overseas.

The security agency is presently assessing 13 locations where it thinks the new facilities could be established and has identified the regions of the UK where they are positioned.

There are multiple prospective areas in the Scottish region, while in England, a total of eight locations have been designated, with two in western Britain.

The leadership aims at least multiple new plants to be functional by the upcoming vote in 2029, and expects development will begin on the first of these soon.
