Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
