Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
