Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-year spell featuring a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, has since taken on roles overseeing worldwide football for Red Bull and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured England's top flight in the previous campaign, though countless followers who adore the manager would be thrilled by the idea that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I said I refuse to lead a different club within the country. So that means in case it's my former club...yes. In theory, it could happen.”

“At 58 years old, which suggests the choice could be mine down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I can just see what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding which situations must arise to tempt his return to the dugout, he confessed he isn't eager toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing during downpours through long matches; No need for press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, yet sharing a meal with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood in the building. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended of the current boss, praising him for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered a string of losses in all competitions after a summer spending spree, though he denied the suggestion of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. The forward lost his life in a car crash together with his sibling this past summer.

“How do you replace such an individual? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad missing him. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. A profound tragedy for his teammates also. Not a single person would cite it as an excuse yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Coping with it emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
