Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the region, generating strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Impact

Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across different parts of both states.
